Workshop – Improvisation w/ Keith Rowe: Verticality and Waiting

DATE: 28/11 WEDNESDAY
TIME: 11:00-17:00
VENUE: Hopkirk, Karpatská 2, 1st Floor Right

Workshop focusing on free group improvisation. ‘Verticality and Waiting’ in a sense are related and they might be seen as extensions of each other. One thing they share is the question of ‘absorbing’, that might be playing in such a way that we absorb the pass before before moving into the next, learning to ‘wait’ placing sounds with a vertical touch, exploring that division ‘Music in time / Music as time’.

The participants should bring their instruments (and amplifiers, if needed), as we will need to practice these aspects of playing. We will also listen to recorded examples of ‘Verticality and Waiting’.
Registration necessary.

Keith Rowe (1940) is an English free improvisation tabletop guitarist and painter, founding member of both the influential AMM in the mid-1960s and M.I.M.E.O.
