Peter Zinovieff – ‘Please Make Me a Beautiful Composition’

Engineer, inventor and composer Peter Zinovieff (1933) has worked with small computers for the last half a century to control and compose electronic music. He claims to have had the first privately owned computer and to have owned a computer longer than anyone else! Throughout these years, he has collaborated in diverse ways with various composers including Hans Werner Henze and Harrison Birtwistle. He will describe his experiments, ideas and performances that have bridged the gap between technology, science and artistic expression. The talk will be illustrated with slides, videos and samples of music.
